Treasuring His Word
From the Pastor's Heart:
September 6th, 2010
“The law of Thy mouth is better to me than thousands of gold and silver pieces” (Psalm 119:72).
How many of us realize that when we have a Bible in our hands, we have an incredible treasure chest at our disposal. The Word of God is more valuable than a chest filled with thousands of gold and silver coins. We get intrigued when we hear of lost treasures, and our minds wonder at what it would be like to find such wealth. Well, I have found such a treasure in the Word of God, and unlike many who hoard to themselves what they find, I would like to freely share with you these riches.
On Wednesday evenings at 6:00 p.m. I will be walking through Psalm 119, this incredible chapter of 176 verses that inspires us to greatly value God’s Word. This coming Sunday morning, I am beginning a series of sermons on the highly misinterpreted subject of “Worship.” We will start with the foundation of God’s Word and how it defines worship. We will then proceed to develop a scriptural perspective of worship, as we subsequently try to untangle some current misconceptions. And on Sunday evenings, we will be digging into the wealth of wisdom found in the book of 1 Peter. Peter’s letter to the “scattered” church is packed with truths and directives that enrich the lives of believers.
I am very excited about sharing this treasure with you. Hope to see you Sunday!
