Mission Statement
Our mission is to serve the community by providing a Christian preschool.  We use Biblical values to create a loving and supportive environment for the child and family.

A Word about the Program

First Baptist Church Weekday Education welcomes you to be a part of our community preschool family.  We hope your involvement in our program will enrich you, your family and our community.

FBC Weekday Education is a Christian Preschool program.  It was established as a ministry of Clanton First Baptist Church in January, 2001.

Our experienced teachers will nurture your child with Christian principles that provide a solid foundation and prepare the young child for his/her future academic school years.  Our program admits children of any race, color and creed, national and ethnic origin and does not discriminate from all the rights, privileges, activities and programs available to the children of Weekday Education.

Weekday Education provides quality education and care for the child while the parent has an opportunity to pursue individual interests and goals.  We also provide the opportunity for each parent and child to grow in their knowledge and love of Jesus Christ.  Daily activities are based on biblical principles that teach them this.

Children who are in our care fit into many different stages of development.  Through play, they master these critical stages of cognitive development.  Learning to play is really the work of childhood.  At each stage of play, children learn how to manage physical space and materials, how to imitate the people around them, and eventually how to interact with people and objects.  It is important for us as teachers to be attentive to children's play.  It is how they achieve a sense of control over their environment and it sets the foundation for learning to occur.

Enrollment Policies

All students registering for a class must be the same by September 1 (or older) as the class they are registering for.  Registered students will be placed into classrooms by Weekday Education.  Much time and consideration is given to the placement of each child into a class.  When placing registered students, the director considers boy/girl ratios and new students enrolled.

We have chosen not to be a state licensed preschool.  A preschool operated by a church is exempt from the control of the Department of Human Resources.  However, we have sought to follow their guidelines.  We have city, fire and health approval.  The Department of Human Resources requires us to have each parent sign an affidavit stating that you are aware that we are not licensed.  This affidavit is sent to them and a certificate is on file in the office of the Director to this fact.  During the year, the Health Department checks the immunization forms on file to make sure they are maintained and up to date.

Priorities for enrollment are as follows:

     1.  Current WEM preschool students and children of staff

     2.  Siblings of current students

     3.  First Baptist Church members

     4.  General public by date application is received

     5.  Children on the Waiting List
